Sod Calculator

To determine the cost of turfgrass sod for a project, you have to first determine the number of square feet of sod needed. To estimate as accurately as possible, you should first divide the project area into squares and rectangles. Multiply the length times the width for each of those areas, then add the areas of squares and rectangles together for the total amount of sod needed for your project. You can use the handy sod calculator below.

Each pallet is 450 sq. feet and each piece is 16” by 24”, 165-168 pieces per pallet

When budgeting for your sod order, we recommend you plan to buy an extra 10 to 20 percent as a cushion. The lower end of that range applies to square or rectangular lawns; the larger amount is for oddly shaped yards.
